Course Description: The pediatric neuromuscular system benefits from early and continuous input for postural development and motor learning. Therapeutic taping provides an additional modality for optimal results across all pediatric patients. This hands-on and interactive workshop will empower participants to integrate kinesiology tape into their pediatric practice. Through lecture and several lab practices participants will learn to safely and effectively apply therapeutic tape to multiple areas of the body and improve outcomes in various pediatric conditions. Participants will leave with effective evidence-based kinesiology taping strategies to integrate into their toolbox the next day to improve therapeutic outcomes.
Course Highlights:
1. Apply and modify evidence-based taping techniques for infants and children with diagnoses including torticollis, cerebral palsy, brachial plexus injury, hypotonia, handwriting deficits, feeding issues and more.
2. Become certified in pediatric kinesiology taping and applications.
3. Expand your kinesiology taping applications to effectively treat issues outside of musculoskeletal dysfunction - articulation, feeding, respiration, constipation, grasp, mobility, gait and balance.
4. Immediately improve children’s posture, gross and fine motor skills, oral motor skills, and decrease pain and scarring.
5. Hands-on labs to practice and review taping principles you can safely and effectively use.
